The new version of the VRLS Struts application (for the second edition of the book) was updated on 2009-05-01, to fix a problem introduced by a new version of the MySQL JDBC driver. The connection URL in the context.xml file was updated to add a parameter that corrects this problem. Re-download the zip file containing the application source package to acquire the fixed version.
